# People

Every page names the people behind it: the editor who wrote it and, for weather, anchoring, safety and routes, the skipper who reviewed it. Sailors who sail here can help keep it current.

Our editor and our skipper reviewer are named in full, with a profile and the ties they disclose. Area stewards and the sailors who help are named by first name and initial, and only if they ask.

All 1189 facts on the site name their source, the latest checked on 8 Oct 2026: 399 from the operator, 420 from official sources, 223 measured by us and 140 from third-party sources, such as pilot books and magazines, so treat those 140 as a guide. The sources disagree on 5 points, in 7 facts: [the bridges east of the marina in ACI Marina Trogir](https://olasail.com/moorings/aci-marina-trogir/), [which winds reach it in Blaca bay](https://olasail.com/places/brac/#swim-blaca), [shelter at the Blue Lagoon](https://olasail.com/places/drvenik-blue-lagoon/), [shelter in Mlini bay](https://olasail.com/places/pakleni-islands/) and [shelter in Vis town](https://olasail.com/moorings/vis-town-harbour/).

## Editor

An editor writes each page and checks every fact with its source before it goes on a page.

### [Domagoj Franc](https://olasail.com/about/people/domagoj-franc/)

Writer and editor

Domagoj Franc builds software for a living. He is the co-founder and CTO of a livestreaming software company, and before that he spent about ten years building backends for other people. Sailing is his passion. On OlaSail he writes and edits every page and checks each fact with its source, so a skipper can plan a week in Croatia from facts that are right this season.

- Work: Writes and edits pages, and checks each fact with its source
- Sailing: Has sailed the whole Croatian Adriatic

## Area stewards

An area steward sails one area every season, checks what anyone can see there and reads the reports sailors send about it.

No area stewards yet. We're looking for sailors who sail one area every season.

[Become an area steward](https://olasail.com/about/contribute/#steward)

## Sailors who helped

Sailors whose reports led to a change or a new check. Only sailors who asked to be credited are listed, by first name and initial.

No sailors are listed yet. Sailed here this season? Tell us what you found, and fill in "Credit me as" if you want your name here.

## How a page is reviewed

1. 1

   The editor checks every fact

A fact goes on a page only once it names its source: the operator, an official source, our own visit or measurement, or a sailor who was there, or, when none of those publishes it, a named third party. It gets one of [our labels](https://olasail.com/about/how-we-check/#labels), a date and an owner. Every sentence is edited by a person.
2. 2

A skipper reviewer reads what can go wrong at sea

A skipper reviewer reads every page about weather, anchoring, safety or a route, and the reviewer's name is on the page.
3. 3

   Sailors tell us what changed

Reports and "Still right?" taps tell us what to check next. A report never changes a fact on its own: the fact's owner checks it with the source, and the page logs the change. [Help keep it right](https://olasail.com/about/contribute/)

## Ties we disclose

Our editor, our skipper reviewer and every area steward list any paid work for charter companies, marinas, buoy operators or restaurants, so you can judge it for yourself. An area steward never checks a place they have ties to.
