ACI says the bay gives safe shelter from wind and waves most of the time, but a strong southwesterly or westerly can send a surge in. The island's hills are to the south, and Hvar town is 2 NM to the east. - Lebić and westerlies from the southwest and west: A surge in a strong blow. Sheltered from waves and wind most of the time, ACI says. A strong southwesterly to westerly can send a surge into the marina. (From the operator, 26 Sep 2026) Our advice: if a strong southwesterly or westerly is forecast, expect the pontoons to move. Rig extra lines and fenders, or choose another harbour. - Bura from the northeast: ACI Marina Palmižana is sheltered from every wind but a strong easterly, the bura included, though a surge builds in strong south-westerlies and westerlies. Our cautious answer: expect gusts in a bura. Expect a surge in strong south-westerlies to westerlies, as ACI itself warns. Our skipper reviewer hasn't checked this yet. It also warns of Baba rock, marked by a black and red column. Use the official chart.
