## Where to spend the night on Brač

6 ways to stay the night, from the west end round to the north coast. Prices are per night for a 12 m boat in July 2026. The jugo blows from the southeast and the bura from the northeast. [What each wind does. Our cautious answer: weather descriptions, not a forecast: read DHMZ's forecast for sailors before you go. Our skipper reviewer hasn't checked this yet.](https://olasail.com/places/brac/#wind)

### [Milna](https://olasail.com/moorings/aci-marina-milna/)

Two marinas and a town quay in a long inlet on the west end. ACI Marina Milna has 148 sea berths. (From the operator, 26 Sep 2026) Night 6 of our route.

Milna is the largest and best-protected bay on the west coast of Brač, sheltered from all winds, ACI says (From the operator, 26 Sep 2026)

€128 a day in July, 12 m boat, ACI Marina Milna (From the operator, 7 Oct 2026)

Catamarans, the quay and Vlaška

A catamaran in ACI Marina Milna. A catamaran or trimaran pays twice the price on a daily berth from 1 Jun to 30 Sep. The rest of the year it pays 50% more. (From the operator, 7 Oct 2026) Marina Vlaška. Marina Vlaška has 71 berths for boats up to 20 m, in a cove on the north side of the entrance to the inlet, a 15-minute walk from the village. Open all year. Phone +385 21 636 028. €128 a day for a 12 m boat in July and August. (From the operator, 26 Sep 2026) The town quay. The Milna town quay is a class I.C county port: €4.50 a metre a day for a boat of 10.01 to 15 m, so €54 for a 12 m boat, all year. (Official source, 26 Sep 2026) Metres count whole, so a 12.3 m boat pays for 13 m. A catamaran pays twice the rate per metre. You pay the port authority's attendant in the port, in cash or by card, and get an invoice. (Official source, 26 Sep 2026) ACI says the marina runs with fewer berths this year while it is rebuilt. (From the operator, 26 Sep 2026) The port authority lists 847 m of quay in Milna, with power, water and fuel for boats, a fuel pump in the harbour, and shops, a post office and cash machines in the village. Its staff in Milna answer on +385 99 272 9406. (Official source, 26 Sep 2026) The harbourmaster's office in Milna is on the Riva, phone +385 21 636 205, weekdays 8 am to 1 pm. ### Bobovišća

A long bay 3 NM north of Milna, with a small quay at Bobovišća na Moru. (Measured by us, 7 Oct 2026) Buoys for 16 boats up to 17 m in Bobovišća bay, and 19 up to 12 m in Vića Luka beside it, under a county concession held by KARABIN j.d.o.o. (Official source, 26 Sep 2026)

There are no shops, offices or cash machines in Bobovišća. The nearest, with fuel and repairs, are in Milna, 5 km away. The port authority's staff answer on +385 91 500 1619. (Official source, 26 Sep 2026)

The outer bay is open to the bura and to winds from south-west to north-west (Official source, 26 Sep 2026). The inner bay and the harbour are sheltered from every wind, but a south-westerly sends a strong surge right into the harbour (Official source, 26 Sep 2026)

€48 a day on the quay, 12 m boat (Official source, 26 Sep 2026)

Buoy price [Tell us about the buoy price at Bobovišća](https://olasail.com/about/corrections/#fact=bobovisca.buoyPrice)

Cash only, paid when you arrive, by every started metre of length. A night runs to 10.30 am the next morning, and a day stay until 4 pm costs half. (From the operator, 26 Sep 2026)

### Lučice

Coves on the southwest coast. About 6.5 NM from Milna by sea, round the west end of Brač, though the two bays are only 1.5 km apart over the hill. (Measured by us, 7 Oct 2026) The Milna Tourist Board lists buoy fields in Smrčeva, Lučice East and Osibova, but the county's records show those concessions ended between 2022 and 2024, so who runs the buoys in 2026 is unclear. (Third-party source, 26 Sep 2026) Two restaurants have berths: [Restoran Lučice](https://olasail.com/restaurants/restoran-lucice/) and [Konoba Familja](https://olasail.com/moorings/restaurant-moorings/#list).

Our measure from the chart: the bay's mouth is open to the south-west and west, with more than 10 NM of open water, and partly to the south and south-east (Measured by us, 5 Oct 2026)

€100 a night on a buoy, for a boat of 14 to 44 ft (From the operator, 5 Oct 2026)

Photo: “J32 644 Farska” by [Falk2](https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:J32_644_Farska.jpg), [CC BY-SA 4.0](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0), resized

### Blaca, Farska and Smrka

Bays under the cliffs of the south coast, for a swim or a quiet night at anchor. No anchoring within 150 m of a natural beach, under the 2025 ordinance. (Official source, 25 Sep 2026)

Treat Blaca, on Brač's south coast, as open to every wind from the east round to the south-west, and leave if any of them is forecast. It is sheltered from the bura, and a maestral bouncing off the steep shore makes a chop (Sources disagree, 6 Oct 2026)

Only a company with a concession for that anchorage, or the port authority inside a public port, may charge you for anchoring. Anywhere else, nobody may. (Official source, 25 Sep 2026)

[Anchoring inside a harbour: who may charge, and how much](https://olasail.com/moorings/anchoring-rules-and-fees/#fees)

### Bol

The town harbour on the south coast, a short walk from [Zlatni Rat](https://olasail.com/places/zlatni-rat/), 24 NM from Split. (Measured by us, 26 Sep 2026) The port authority lists 74 m of quay in Bol, and in town shops, a clinic, a post office, a cash machine and a fuel pump for boats. Its staff in Bol answer on +385 91 737 4014. (Official source, 26 Sep 2026)

Bol is sheltered from every wind except the south-west, which raises waves. The new quay east of the harbour is open to the sea, and its berths take ferry wash and onshore wind and swell. Our cautious answer: don't lie on the Bol quay in a jugo or any southerly. Our skipper reviewer hasn't checked this yet. (Third-party source, 28 Sep 2026)

€60 a day in the harbour, 12 m boat (Official source, 26 Sep 2026)

Paying, and catamarans

You pay the port authority's attendant in the port, in cash or by card, and get an invoice. (Official source, 26 Sep 2026) In the Split-Dalmatia county ports, catamarans pay twice the rate per metre. (Official source, 26 Sep 2026)

### Pučišća

A stone town at the head of a deep, narrow bay on the north coast, 16 NM from Split. (Measured by us, 7 Oct 2026) Shops, restaurants, a clinic, a post office and a cash machine in Pučišća, and repairs and parts in the harbour itself. The port authority's staff answer on +385 92 138 7422. (Official source, 26 Sep 2026)

Pučišća is sheltered from every wind except the bura, which raises a chop in the harbour. Our cautious answer: in a strong bura, treat the harbour as uncomfortable and go elsewhere if you can. Our skipper reviewer hasn't checked this yet. (Third-party source, 26 Sep 2026)

€54 a day on the quay, 12 m boat (Official source, 26 Sep 2026)

## Wind and sea, next 3 days

For Milna, on the west end of Brač.

Model forecast from Open-Meteo. Not an official forecast. Not for navigation.

Official forecast: [DHMZ marine forecast](https://meteo.hr/prognoze_e.php?section=prognoze_specp&param=jadran) (Official source, 25 Sep 2026)

How to read this forecast

Each part of the day shows its strongest hourly wind and gust, and its highest wave, in Croatian time. The words follow the Beaufort scale, and the model can't tell a real bura from any other northeast wind. ## Swim stops on Brač by boat

### [Zlatni Rat](https://olasail.com/places/zlatni-rat/)

The pebble spit west of Bol, whose tip moves with the wind. 1 NM from the harbour (Measured by us, 7 Oct 2026).

- How to stop: In season 20 to 30 boats a day anchor off the two sides of the spit: on the east side, in Potočine bay, in a maestral, and on the west side, in Paklina bay, in a jugo. (Official source, 26 Sep 2026) There is no buoy field: the study found only a few concrete blocks laid without a concession, and advised leaving Zlatni Rat out of the county's anchorages. (Official source, 26 Sep 2026) In season boats anchor on both sides of the spit: east in a maestral and west in a jugo. (Official source, 30 Sep 2026)
- The rules: No anchoring within 150 m of a natural beach, under the 2025 ordinance. (Official source, 25 Sep 2026) Within 300 m of the shore, in narrow channels and near harbours and anchorages, go no faster than 8 knots (Article 50). (Official source, 26 Sep 2026)
- Busy: A boat line runs from the centre of Bol to a pontoon at the start of the beach in Potočine bay, about every 15 minutes with up to 40 people, and half as often after 4 pm. (Official source, 26 Sep 2026)
- Rules it out: Open to the bura, and above all to southerly and south-westerly winds, which raise a rough sea. The spit juts into the narrowest part of the Hvar channel, so north-westerly, westerly and south-westerly winds blow harder round it. In a maestral boats anchor off the east side of the spit, and in a jugo off the west side. (Official source, 28 Sep 2026)

### Blaca bay

A long bay under the cliffs, and the landing for the hermitage. 9.5 NM from Milna (Measured by us, 7 Oct 2026).

- How to stop: A very good anchorage on sand. (Official source, 26 Sep 2026) The county's 2024 anchorage plan puts a buoy field along the east shore of Blaca bay, in up to 20 m. The bottom is sand and seagrass, shelving from the beach to 8 m, and the path to the hermitage starts at the old jetty on the east side. (Official source, 5 Oct 2026)
- Fee: Only a company with a concession for that anchorage, or the port authority inside a public port, may charge you for anchoring. Anywhere else, nobody may. (Official source, 25 Sep 2026) [Who may charge you](https://olasail.com/moorings/anchoring-rules-and-fees/#fees)
- Rules it out: Our cautious answer: Leave if any wind from the east round to the south-west is forecast. The county's texts disagree: the 2019 study calls Blaca safe from the north round to the east and open to the south and south-west; the 2024 plan calls it open to the south-east and south and sheltered from the south-west by Blacina glava. Either way the jugo and southerlies make the sea rough, and the maestral bouncing off the steep shores makes a chop. (Sources disagree, 6 Oct 2026) Treat Blaca, on Brač's south coast, as open to every wind from the east round to the south-west, and leave if any of them is forecast. It is sheltered from the bura, and a maestral bouncing off the steep shore makes a chop. (Sources disagree, 6 Oct 2026)

### [Lučice](https://olasail.com/places/brac/#lucice)

Coves near Milna for a lunch swim, 6.5 NM by sea from the marinas (Measured by us, 7 Oct 2026).

- How to stop: The Milna Tourist Board lists buoy fields in Smrčeva, Lučice East and Osibova, but the county's records show those concessions ended between 2022 and 2024, so who runs the buoys in 2026 is unclear. (Third-party source, 26 Sep 2026)
- Fee: The buoys have their own price whether or not you eat: €100 a night for a boat of 14 to 44 ft, from 16:00 to 05:00, VAT included. Dinner guests keep the buoy until 10:00. Book dinner by 17:00. (From the operator, 5 Oct 2026)
- Rules it out: Our measure from the chart: the bay's mouth is open to the south-west and west, with more than 10 NM of open water, and partly to the south and south-east. (Measured by us, 5 Oct 2026)

### The Blaca hermitage

Anchor in Blaca bay, then walk up. [Stopping in Blaca bay](https://olasail.com/places/brac/#swim-blaca)

A museum in a 16th-century hermitage above the south coast. From Blaca bay a path climbs the valley to the hermitage, about 30 minutes on foot. (From the operator, 26 Sep 2026)

Open 9 am to 5 pm from 16 Jun to 15 Sep, and 9 am to 3 pm the rest of the year. Closed on Mondays. Adults pay €8. (From the operator, 5 Oct 2026)

The museum reopened on 26 Sep 2026, after a wildfire damaged the paths. Repairs go on, so take care on the path up. (Third-party source, 5 Oct 2026)

### Vidova Gora

At about 780 m, the highest point of any Adriatic island, straight above Bol. A road climbs to near the top, for the view over Zlatni Rat and across to Hvar.

## On the route

Brač is days 6 and 7 of [Seven days from Split](https://olasail.com/routes/split-seven-days/), a 123 NM loop. (Measured by us, 5 Oct 2026) Night 6 is in Milna, and day 7 takes you back to Split through the [Split Gate](https://olasail.com/croatia/safety-and-emergencies/#ferries). More than 20,000 passages a year go through the Split Gate, over 10,000 each way, two to three times more in summer, and about 30% of them fast craft. On 14 Jun 2026 a passenger ship and a sailing yacht collided there. Keep a lookout astern (Official source, 26 Sep 2026)
