The bay: shelter and anchoring

The bay
A good anchorage for small boats, 8 to 15 m deep on the north side. Two restaurants have jetties, and in 2019 three businesses held buoy concessions in the bay's two arms. (Official source, )The Milna Tourist Board lists buoy fields in Smrčeva, Lučice East and Osibova, but the county's records show those concessions ended between 2022 and 2024, so who runs the buoys in 2026 is unclear. Our measure from the chart: the bay's mouth is open to the south-west and west, with more than 10 NM of open water, and partly to the south and south-east  (Measured by us, ). The bay has two arms, and one of them always gives good shelter from the wind. (Official source, )
