Add up your week
This is a worked example of our standard Split route. Every route page says what its week costs in three styles, from at anchor and cooking aboard to marinas and restaurants, with a budget that follows the nights you choose: what seven days from Split costs. This example stays fixed when you edit a route. Berth prices are for a 12 m boat at the seasons listed below. Change the other starting figures to match your quote and plans.
Before you go
Enter the boat price only; add compulsory extras below. Do not count an included charge twice. Our starting figures are the middle of three Split-area companies' list prices for a 38 to 42 ft monohull and a 40 ft catamaran, a late-July week in 2026, not a quote. (Measured by us, )

What each route costs
We work out each of our routes with the calculator's starting figures, in three styles. Budget anchors where our sources name an anchorage, never two nights running, paying the fee where a port charges one, and cooks aboard; Middle is our planned nights with dinner ashore, and High is the dearest berths, meals out and a catamaran with a skipper. A night at anchor still depends on the depth, the holding and that night's forecast: can I anchor here?. Open a route to choose your own nights, boat and crew.

- The boat
A charter is a week's yacht rental, and its price changes with the month, the boat's age and the company, so compare quotes for the same week. What a sailor told us
Discounts depend on the operator. Ultra Sailing says it regularly offers early-booking and last-minute discounts on its Croatian charter boats, subject to the available boat and week. (From the operator, ) Ask for the price of your boat and week.
In their 2026 price lists, three Split-area companies ask €3,500 to €5,300 for a late-July week on a 38 to 42 ft monohull, middle €4,250, and €6,800 to €8,900 on a 40 ft catamaran, middle €7,400, before early-booking discounts of up to 15%. (Measured by us, ) Our calculator starts from them until you put in your own quote.
Ask for a quote that lists every extra, and check the week it is for. Sunsail gives 6 pm as its usual boarding time at Marina Agana, its base near Trogir, and sells a 3 pm start as an extra. (From the operator, ) How to read a charter quote
Where you start changes the price and the week. Choosing a base compares Split, Trogir, Šibenik, Zadar and Dubrovnik.
- Your quoteOurs is a starting figure only. (Measured by us, )
- One-way fee
Ending the charter at another base costs a one-way fee. Two Split-area companies list it: one charges €500 for a monohull and €750 for a catamaran from Kaštela to ACI Marina Dubrovnik, with the mooring in Dubrovnik on top, and our calculator uses these and prices the last night in Dubrovnik on its own; the other lists €660 for a 39 to 45 ft monohull and €720 for a 40 to 44 ft catamaran for the one-way fee and a day's mooring together, paid at check-in. (From the operator, ) Split to Dubrovnik in a week is a one-way charter: you leave the boat in Dubrovnik, and its figures include the fee. Ask whether your company offers a one-way charter for your boat and week before you book flights. Choosing a base

- Deposit and damage waiver
Without a damage waiver, Sunsail holds €5,865 for a 40 to 49 ft monohull and €7,600 for a 42 to 44 ft catamaran on a Visa or Mastercard; with its daily damage waiver, €800 and €1,037. Ultra Sailing holds €1,600 for a 12.4 m monohull and €2,500 for a 12 m catamaran, in cash or as a card hold. (From the operator, )
Many companies also sell a damage waiver. It is optional. At Sunsail and The Moorings it costs US$80 to US$100 a day for a monohull and US$125 to US$170 for a catamaran, paid in advance and not refunded, and it lowers the deposit. Ultra Sailing charges €290 for its Oceanis 40.1 monohull or €440 for a 40 ft catamaran, for the booking, and €100 of that is refundable. (From the operator, ) Read what it covers before you pay. - Transit log and base charges
None of the four companies calls it a transit log. Ultra Sailing charges a compulsory charter pack for the final cleaning, gas, the diver's inspection, bed linen and towels: €140 to €473 a booking for a sailing boat and €495 to €655 for a catamaran. The tourist tax comes on top. (From the operator, ) Ask for the transit log line by line, so you know if the tourist tax is already in it. How yacht charter in Croatia works

- A skipper
A skipper charges by the day, sleeps aboard in one of your cabins and eats with you, so count them in the food. Split-area charter companies charge about €200 to €250 a day for a skipper on a 38 to 45 ft boat, middle about €230, before the skipper's food. - Marinas, buoys and town quays
On our Split route you stay in 4 marinas, 3 town quays, and the last night is at your base. A marina usually has water, power and showers, and a buoy field has none. Where to stay the night · Which ones take bookings
A marina costs the most. At ACI Marina Palmižana it is €140 a night for a 12 m boat in July and August. (From the operator, ) €132 from April to June and in September and October. Across the 14 Dalmatian marinas we compared, a July night for a 12 m charter monohull costs €90 to €168, and most charge a catamaran twice. Marina prices for both boats On the buoys in Vinogradišće bay, on the other side of the island: €7 a metre a night from 1 Jun to 20 Sep, so €84 for a 12 m boat, and €5 a metre in April, May and from 21 Sep to 20 Oct. VAT is included. Booking a buoy costs €30 in high season and €15 in low season. (From the operator, )
Anchoring can be free, but not everywhere. Only a concession holder or a port authority may charge you. (Official source, ) In a public port's anchorage you pay the berth fee less 30% on a buoy, or less 50% at anchor. (Official source, ) In Vinišće, west of Trogir, that comes to about €10 a night for a 10 m boat. (Official source, ) Anchoring rules and fees
- Checked prices7 of 7 nights have a checked price.
- Restaurant berths
Some konobas in the bays let you use their pier or buoys if you eat with them. What it costs depends on the terms, and we sort every restaurant berth into one of five kinds:
- Included with a meal: the berth costs nothing if you eat dinner there.
- Deposit credited against a meal: you pay a deposit when you arrive, and it comes off the dinner bill.
- Meal plus berth charge: dinner is a condition, and the berth costs a fee on top.
- Separate berth charge: the berth has its own price, whether or not you eat.
- Terms unconfirmed: the restaurant hasn't told us this season's terms, so ask before you tie up.
At Restoran Lučice, on Brač, the buoys have their own price whether or not you eat: €100 a night for a boat of 14 to 44 ft, from 16:00 to 05:00, VAT included. Dinner guests keep the buoy until 10:00. Book dinner by 17:00. (From the operator, )

- Tourist tax
The law: charter guests pay tourist tax for every night aboard, and it is paid before the boat leaves the base. (Official source, ) In practice the company collects it at the base, often inside the transit log. (From the operator, ) €1.33 a person a night aboard a charter boat. The ordinance sets 10 kuna, and the euro act turns it into euro at the fixed rate. Those aged 12 to 18 pay half; children under 12 and a charter boat's professional crew don't pay. - Official rule (Official source, )
- Park and cave tickets
Our route passes one ticketed sight, the Blue Cave on Biševo. Visits are only with the concession holder's boats, from Mezuporat, with a ticket. No boat of any kind may move, anchor or tie up in the Blue Cave or the Bear Cave, and you may not swim or dive in the Blue Cave (From the operator, ) Nautički centar Komiža d.o.o. runs the cave visits and publishes the price list. The list in force since 1 Jun 2025 has a high season from 20 Jun to 10 Sep, and lower prices from 1 Apr to 19 Jun and from 11 Sep to 31 Oct. (From the operator, )
National parks such as Kornati and Mljet sell their own tickets. They are not on this route.

- Food and the cash float
Our estimate assumes breakfast and lunch aboard and dinner ashore. (Measured by us, ) Where to buy food is in How yacht charter in Croatia works.

Common questions
- How much does a week's sailing in Croatia cost?
- It depends most on the boat. With our starting figures, a crew of six on a 38 to 42 ft monohull, a late-July week in 2026, comes to about €1,480 each, and the boat is about 48% of it. Enter your boat quote and other costs above for your own estimate. Our other routes are priced the same way in what each route costs.
- Is sailing in Croatia expensive?
- With our starting figures, the Split week costs about €1,480 a person. The boat is the largest cost. Change the calculator to your own rental quote and crew size before you decide.
- Do you pay to moor every night?
- Marinas, buoy fields and town quays charge. Anchoring can be free where the 2025 rules allow it, because only a concession holder or a port authority may charge you to anchor. (Official source, ) Anchoring rules and fees · What changed for fees at anchor
- Is June or September cheaper?
- Often, in early June and late September. Charter prices are high in both, and highest in July and August. (From the operator, ) Best time to sail, month by month
- Does a catamaran cost much more?
- The boat costs more, it burns more fuel, and county ports charge a catamaran twice the rate per metre. (Official source, ) Most marinas we compared do too: 10 of the 13 that price a catamaran on a weekday charged twice the monohull's price for a July 2026 night. Marina prices for both boats Switch the calculator to Catamaran to see the difference. The same week on each boat
- Do we tip the skipper?
- It is up to you: tipping a skipper in Croatia. What the calculator starts from
What sailors told us
What sailors told us about prices. Our calculator starts from some of these figures, and you can change every one. We haven't checked these reports, and they don't count in our checks above.
One sailor was quoted two very different prices for the same boat and dates. The cheaper quote turned out to be a low-season rate.
One reply would tip nothing, or up to €500 in cash handed to the skipper himself. Another says there is no exact rule.
On a 5-day crewed charter costing €14,000, the food was a deposit of another €3,000.
Take out damage-waiver (CDW) insurance with an independent broker, not the charter company: the yacht is inspected on return, with a diver checking the keel, rudder and hull.
